Todays News - What's Hot

Have you heard that Jerry Seinfeld's new fianceé works for Tommy Hilfiger
and Tommy may be designing the bridal gown? Wouldn't that be interesting
to see? Anyhow, in other news, have you noticed the return of the shrug?
I had a white one and a black one in my drawers from childhood! My twelve
year old daughter says they are hot...Also, I see stretch cargo pants,
stretch three-quarter shirts and anything else stretch. Messenger bags are
back along with stretch microfiber boots in all lengths, especially short
boots that stretch over the vamp or lace up in front or back in delicious
black leathers or microfibers. And what about those fabulous faux fur coats,
jackets, vests with hoods in fake fur, fleece and quilting (which I especially
like in steel colors for the millennium).

And speaking of 2000, have you guys had a chance to eyeball these beaded
shirts and silk dresses with knitted sweaters which are embellished with
champagne bottles and fireworks and champagne flutes or Y2K? Do we love
these or what? But when can wear them again? I love to see these with
slingback shoes or boots with modest platforms or even Mary Janes in black
leather or gray flannel. On a more casual note, along with shrugs and
sneakers from yesteryear, embroidered jeans are back with us. But this time,
instead of handmade patches or embroidered borders to lengthen short bell-
bottoms these new classics are expensive designer duds. Flowers and lacey
appliqués are all over this darker denim and satin pants ala disco days.

For the guys, lest we forget them, pea coats are back in navy. But my son,
sixteen this week, thinks they are too feminine, and prefers quilted or nylon
jackets to the wool pea coat. The guys are still in khaki mode, cargos, jeans
and suit separates. Small twill plaid patterns and solids from wool to corduroy
to microfiber and especially cottons are here in shirts. Speaking of Tommy
Hilfiger, love his belts with the small logos, but not a fan of huge designer
name billboards on our apparel. Men and women in suits with longer jackets
and lean lines in grays and blues always look cool, vests or no vests.
